Founded in 2025, Invictus Investment Partners is a Hong Kong-based hedge fund focused mainly on Japanese equities.
We are an independent, research-driven investment firm committed to generating consistent, risk-adjusted returns through a disciplined and differentiated approach to fundamental investing.
We believe that the Japanese equity market continues to offer structural inefficiencies and opportunities for active managers with local knowledge, deep research capabilities, and a long-term mindset.

Takeo Serizawa co-founded Invictus Investment Partners and is our Chief Investment Officer, leading our investment team. With over 20 years of experience in Japanese equities, Serizawa's deep understanding of Japanese equities stems from having experienced multiple roles including retail and institutional equity sales at SMBC, Daiwa and UBS. At UBS, Serizawa also experienced risk trading before becoming a senior portfolio manager running a fundamental long/short strategy deploying over US$2bn of gross at leading global hedge funds including Marshall Wace, Balyasny and Citadel. Our Chief Investment Officer manages a concentrated portfolio of approximately 120–150 positions, prioritizing portfolio performance while developing analysts into dedicated sector specialists, including industrials, industrial electronics, various consumer sectors, healthcare, materials, and the TMT sector.

Tomohiro Yamaguchi co-founded Invictus Investment Partners and is our Chief Executive Officer, leading our non-investment team. With over 20 years of experience in Japanese equities, Yamaguchi started his career in Investment Banking at JPM and MS. He has held senior portfolio manager roles running a Japan fundamental long/short strategy at various firms including Segantii Capital, Pictet Asset Management and Schonfeld where total gross deployed at peak had reached US$2.5bn. At Point72, Yamaguchi led the firm's Japan business as Country and Japan Equity head, overseeing the firm's business and developing high-performing portfolio managers and investment teams. As a member of the Executive Management, Operating, and Risk Committees, and as an SFC Responsible Officer, he plays a broad leadership role spanning governance, risk oversight, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making, reflecting his extensive finance expertise and diverse skillset.
